Friends of the Elderly

The client

Founded over 113 years ago to look after the poor and needy, by 1945 the organisation became focused on the needs of the elderly. Changing to its current name in 1972, and with 11 residential care homes across southern England, their aim is to help elderly people live independently in their own homes, and to provide residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for those who need more support.

What we did

Arolite formalised the maintenance of all kitchen equipment with assessment and asset numbering. By implementing an annual planned maintenance programme, we aimed to reduce servicing costs and we supplied replacement equipment and improved kitchen layouts.

We were also on hand to give technical advice, ensuring the client stayed compliant with current legislation.

Arolite provided clear and concise reports which enabled informed decision making. We appreciated their helpful, knowledgeable and friendly service.

How we helped the business

Our professional support on kitchen equipment across all care homes has resulted in an overall reduction in service costs.
